# MaxVRS

> MaxVRS is an expandable polyphonic synthesizer by Vault84Lab, created by Peter Hradecký, a songwriter and producer making music as district sun.

MaxVRS is free and runs as a VST3 and AU plug-in and as a standalone app, with installers for macOS and Windows. The download page is the source of truth for currently available platform releases; availability and versions can change independently of the website.

The instrument offers up to 32 voices, up to three layered groups with six oscillators per group, and six source engines: Wave Factory, Harmonic Cloud, Noise, Wavetable, Sample, and Piano. MaxVRS Pro adds FM Lab, drum modules (Kick, Snare & Clap, Hats & Metal), Formant, Resonator, and Grains; every edition plays presets made with them. It includes envelopes, LFOs (up to 200 Hz), a step modulator, Random and MSEG modulation, an arpeggiator, macros, Undo and Redo, and two effects lanes with 15 effect types, six more in Pro. Its AI Sound Assistant builds or edits a patch from a description and explains how a sound is made, using the user's own Claude or ChatGPT subscription or API key.
