CHANGELOG

  1. 0.9.12 Beta
    • The AI Sound Assistant: describe a sound and it builds or edits the patch for you, using your own Claude or ChatGPT subscription or API key.
    • Three new filter types for the group and lane filters: Formant shapes the sound into a vowel (A, E, I, O, U), Comb rings on the note like a string, and Ladder is a classic four-pole analog low-pass that self-oscillates and drives.
    • A new Frequency Shifter lane effect moves every frequency by the same amount: slow beating, metallic, bell-like and alien sounds, and feedback that spirals up or down.
    • LFOs reach audio rate: the new FAST HZ timing runs them up to 200 Hz, for trills, buzzing and growls.
    • A new factory pad, Hope Rising, and every factory preset now responds to the MOD wheel, Macro 1 and Macro 2.
    • Presets made with the new MaxVRS Pro modules and effects play in every edition, including this free beta.
    • A tidier Sample / Chop card and a two-column menu for adding oscillators.
    • Fix: removing a group no longer leaves its filter, wind and glide settings behind on the next group.
  2. 0.9.11 Beta
    • Undo and Redo for the whole patch, up to 100 steps: knobs, modulation routes, patterns, samples and the oscillator and effect structure. Also with ⌘Z / Ctrl+Z and ⇧⌘Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z.
    • A new factory pad, Eternal, and 13 refined factory presets (basses, leads, keys, drums and motion) with new descriptions and macro names.
    • MaxVRS remembers the window size the moment you resize it.
    • A flatter header: the Configuration and About buttons match the rest of MaxVRS, and the MaxVRS logo opens About.
    • About 5% less CPU on Macs across the factory presets, and up to a fifth less for Harmonic Cloud sounds. The sound is unchanged.
  3. 0.9.10 Beta
    • A new preset browser with search: type a name, category, tag or description to find any preset in Factory and User.
    • A cleaner, flat look: flat buttons, menus and switches throughout. The preset browser, Configuration, the Wavetable Library and message boxes now match the rest of MaxVRS.
    • The Wavetable Library plays each wave as you click it; USE keeps it and CANCEL goes back.
    • The preset arrows step through presets in the same order as the browser.
    • Oscillator modulation gains Polarity (bipolar, up or down) and Tone, and Hard Sync gains Softness.
    • Lower CPU use on Macs: about 7% less across the factory presets. Presets sound the same; the difference is far below hearing.
  4. 0.9.9 Beta
    • Fixed a Cubase crash when the plug-in window closed with the preset browser open.
    • Lower CPU use on Windows for dense unison and Harmonic Cloud sounds, about 6% less on a dense lead.
    • On Windows, the plug-in’s file details show the right version.
    • Everything sounds exactly as before.
  5. 0.9.8 Beta
    • Your DAW’s automation list now holds 852 key controls, so MaxVRS fits FL Studio’s limit. Automate any other control through a macro.
    • Presets load almost instantly, and the plug-in opens more than twice as fast.
    • Lower CPU use: about 1% less on Macs and 10–13% less on percussion patches.
    • Notes played on the on-screen keyboard no longer get stuck when the plug-in is bypassed.
    • LFO, Random and MSEG reach 4/1 and 2/1; Bitcrusher Bits can be modulated.
    • Everything sounds exactly as before.
  6. 0.9.7 Beta
    • Lower CPU use on Macs: about 8% less than 0.9.6 across the factory presets, and up to about 20% less on patches with many unison voices, such as Detuned Trance. Everything sounds exactly as before.
  7. 0.9.6 Beta
    • INIT now starts with Master Output at -8 dB, so chords on a fresh patch no longer clip into the output limiter.
    • Bug fixes and under-the-hood improvements to the effects and the CPU meter. Your presets sound exactly as before.
  8. 0.9.5 Beta
    • Macros, the MOD wheel and Motion sources can now control the amp envelope and the Trance Gate’s Depth, Attack and Release.
  9. 0.9.4 Beta
    • Fixed the Noise oscillator: below 100% Density it added a DC offset, stronger at higher sample rates. Patches that use Noise may sound different.
    • Two new factory presets: Dark Forest, a trance-gated sequence, and Rainbow, a lush chorus pad.
    • Loading a preset keeps your open workspaces instead of resetting them.
  10. 0.9.3 Beta
    • Much lower CPU use on Windows: about half of 0.9.2 on the same patch.
    • Harmonic Cloud uses less CPU when its controls are modulated.
    • Groups keep their loudness when you add or remove oscillators, and Harmonic Cloud now matches Wave Factory. Factory presets sound as before; your own patches with several oscillators may play louder.
